Police Officer Shot, 999 | Phoenix

03.13.2022 | 1:00 AM | PHOENIX – Phoenix Police officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle near 27th Avenue and Maryland Avenue shortly after 1:00AM Sunday morning. Shortly after initiating the traffic stop a suspect fired an unknown number of rounds from his vehicle towards a police cruiser striking an officer. The officer was transported from the scene by fellow officers to nearby paramedics. The officers condition is unknown. One male has been detained near 6241 North 27th Avenue. It is unknown whether he was the shooter or an occupant in the suspect vehicle. According to Phoenix Police Twitter page, a suspect is still outstanding.
