Police Box In Street Takeover Crowd At Figueroa And Alondra

Dozens of vehicles and roughly 100 people were surrounded by law enforcement during a major operation targeting a street takeover early Saturday morning near the Harbor Gateway and Gardena border.

The operation unfolded around 4 a.m. on September 5, 2026, at Figueroa Street and Alondra Boulevard.

Approximately 50 vehicles and around 100 people were initially boxed into the intersection as officers moved in and established a perimeter. Video from the scene showed some takeover attendees running from officers, jumping fences and attempting to drive away.

At least two large LAPD buses were brought to the scene to transport arrestees, while numerous vehicles were expected to be impounded.

Parents also gathered outside the law enforcement perimeter, waiting to learn whether their children would be released to them.

Police used drones and helicopters to monitor the operation from above. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were observed at the scene.

The operation continued for several hours as officers processed those detained and vehicles were removed from the area.
