Playa del Rey: Pedestrian Killed By Hit & Run Driver

02.13.2020 | 1:16 AM | LOS ANGELES – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver who fled without stopping to render aid, early Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Pershing Drive and Campdell Street in the Playa del Rey area around 1:16 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a pedestrian down suffering from major trauma and began life-saving interventions.

Despite their efforts the pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian, described as a possible black Audi, fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

Officers had cordoned off the area while they search for clues that might lead them to the hit-and-run driver.

No information regarding the age or gender of the victim was immediately available.
