Plane Makes Emergency Landing Near Lake Matthews

At 10:47am, Cal Fire and CHP responded for reports of a Cessna 172 aircraft from the Riverside Flight Academy making an emergency landing just south of Lake Matthews near Cajalco Road. The airplane was able to safely land on a dirt road and the occupants weren’t injured. It is unclear what mechanical issue the plane had prior to the emergency landing, but the FAA has been requested to investigate.
