Plane Crashes into Tree Trapping Pilot and Passenger

- A single-engine plane has gone down just short of the Fullerton airport, trapping two souls on board
- Fullerton police and fire officials were dispatched to a plane crash shortly after 1:45 PM
- Arriving, units located a plane upright that crashed into a tree, striking a fire hydrant in the process
- Two trauma patients were confirmed trapped inside the aircraft and had to be cut out of the wreckage
- Firefighters were able to quickly extricate the occupants within 15 minutes of arrival and transport both to the UCI trauma center, where their conditions are not currently known.
- The tail number is N9245V, a 1969 Mooney M20F 4 seater. The aircraft appeared to have just taken off when it immediately circled back to attempt a landing at the airport.
