Piru: Lime Fire Scorches 450+ Acres

06.10.2020 | 4:30 PM | PIRU – A vegetation fire dubbed the “Lime Fire” scorched over 450 acres and is only 20% contained, Wednesday evening.

The fire broke out near Lime Canyon in the 100 block of Blanchard Canyon Road around 4:30 PM.

Crews arriving on scene located the fire burning in steep terrain and requested air resources to assist battling the fire.

Home surrounding Piru Lake were evacuated while firefighters worked to contain the fire that quickly scorched over 450 acres.

At last report two minor injuries were reported and containment of the fire was at 20%.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
