Pilot Seriously Injured In Big Bear City Plane Crash

A pilot was seriously injured after a small private aircraft crashed into Big Bear City Park Thursday evening.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on August 27, 2026, firefighters and sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a plane crash at the park in Big Bear City.

First responders arrived to find a severely injured man being treated by local residents.

Residents at the scene said they rushed to the aircraft following the crash and pulled the pilot from the plane before emergency crews arrived.

The pilot, believed to be the aircraft’s sole occupant, was transported to an unknown hospital in serious condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No additional details were immediately available.
