Physical Rescue Crash Shuts Down Metrolink Tracks | Los Angeles

10.10.2022 | 1:57 AM | LOS ANGELES – Authorities responded to reports of an overturned vehicle.

Arriving fire units found a single vehicle which had violently crashed into the railroad crossing and was overturned on the train tracks.

Firefighters discovered the driver was trapped in the vehicle, and requested additional resources due to the driver being trapped in the vehicle.

LAFD firefighters used the jaws of life and other cutting tools to free the driver from the wrecked car.

The driver was transported by LAFD paramedics to USCMC in unknown condition.

It is unclear whether speed may have been a factor in the crash.

The Metrolink tracks will remain fully closed for the morning commute for an unknown duration of time. All trains will be re-routed in the meantime.

LAPD is on scene investigating.
