Phony 911 Call Leads to Swatting Incident | La Jolla

05.04.2022 | 12:45 PM | LA JOLLA – The SDPD was contacted by someone who stated that there had been a stabbing & a shooting inside of unit #178 at a large apartment complex across from the La Jolla Shores Park, and that a 7-year-old was locked in the bathroom.

The person also stated that there was an 80-year-old male inside of the apartment.

Officers arrived in force and started to shut down the park and surrounding streets.

Upon speaking with residents, no one heard any gunshots or any commotion coming from the apartment.

The Officers made call out and finally breached the door to the apartment and found no one inside or any evidence of any violence.

This is being considered to be a prank or a SWATTING.
