• A Phoenix Police officer in a marked patrol vehicle was involved in a rollover collision near 16th Street and University Drive at approximately 2:17 AM.
• Several Phoenix Police officers along side Phoenix Fire crews responded to the scene
• A Phoenix Police Lieutenant on scene confirmed the officer was attempting to locate a speeding Corvette in the area when the crash occurred.
• The officer was briefly trapped but was extricated by officers prior to the Fire Departments arrival.
• He sustained minor injuries and was evaluated by Phoenix Fire personnel on scene.
• The officer refused transport to the hospital.
