- Around 11:30 Friday evening a Phoenix Police officer radioed for help after being shot in a shopping plaza near the intersection for 33rd Ave and Southern.
- Dozens of officers rushed to the scene.
- The officer was evaluated by Phoenix Firefighters before being transported in stable condition to Banner University Hospital.
- At least 4 shell casings were located in the parking lot.
- It is unclear if the officer discharged his firearm at all during the altercation.
- Police closed off both directions of Southern Ave and the entire shopping plaza where the shooting occurred.
