Phoenix PD Motor Officer Struck by Minivan | Phoenix

12.27.2021 | 12:30 AM | PHOENIX – Phoenix Police and Fire crews responded to reports of an officer-involved collision at the intersection of 26th Avenue and Bethany Home Road around 12:30 AM Monday morning.

Upon arrival, crews found a Phoenix Police motorcycle unit down and no secondary vehicle.

The unit was struck by a dark-colored minivan that fled the scene.

Fire crews stabilized and transported the downed officer to a local hospital.

The officer sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was alert and talking upon transport.

Eastbound Bethany Home Road is expected to remain closed throughout the early morning hours between 27th Avenue and Interstate 17 as officers investigate the wreck.
