Murder-Suicide in West Phoenix

(January 6, 2025): Detectives are working to complete an investigation that resulted in two dead and a child in the hospital.

On January 5, 2025, around 8:30 pm, officers were called to a shooting at an apartment complex near 99th Avenue and Indian School Road. When officers arrived, they were informed by callers there was an argument followed by multiple shots fired inside an apartment. Officers made entry into the apartment and found a man and a woman dead, and a toddler suffering from a gunshot wound. The toddler was removed from the apartment and rushed to the hospital by fire personnel. The child was stabilized by medical staff but remains in critical condition.

Detectives responded to take over the investigation. Preliminary information suggests the male, 38-year-old Andrew Corona, shot his wife, 35-year-old Ashlee Corona, and their child in common before turning the gun on himself. Investigators continue to process the scene and collect further information to determine what led up to the shooting. Any further information remains part of the ongoing investigation.
