Phelan: Suspected DUI Driver Found Asleep In Car Blocking Freeway Lanes (Caught On Camera)

04.19.2020 | 3:24 AM | PHELAN – A suspected DUI driver who was found asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle in the middle of a freeway was under arrest, early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to multiple calls reporting a vehicle stopped in the middle of lanes on the southbound I-15 Freeway near Cleghorn around 3:24 AM.

A photojournalist arrived in the area prior to law enforcement and shined his vehicle’s spotlights on the car that was blacked-out and stopped in the middle of traffic.

Several vehicles could be seen swerving to avoid the blacked out car before officers arrived on scene and stopped traffic.

Inside the vehicle officers located a male driver asleep behind the wheel with open containers of alcohol inside.

The officers cleared the vehicle from the roadway and administered field sobriety tests on the driver before placing him under arrest on suspicion of DUI.
