Phelan: Semi-Truck Fire Stalls I-15 Freeway Traffic

03.30.2020 | 12:39 AM | PHELAN – Traffic was halted while authorities worked to battle a semi-truck engulfed in flames, early Monday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a car fire on the northbound I-15 Freeway near the SR-138 Freeway around 12:39 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a semi-truck engulfed in flames and began efforts to attack the blaze.

It took firefighters just over 30 minutes to contain the blaze which destroyed the semi-truck and trailer.

The driver of the truck escaped without injury.

It was unclear what the started the fire or what the truck was hauling but the vehicle did have UPS branded license plates.

All lanes of the northbound I-15 Freeway were closed for just under an hour while authorities worked to investigate and clear the scene.
