Pharmacy Looted During Boyle Heights Street Takeover

A pharmacy was burglarized during a street takeover late Sunday night in Boyle Heights, with suspects breaking into the business as police worked to disperse the crowd nearby.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on August 23, 2026, a street takeover was underway near Whittier Boulevard and Lorena Street.

As LAPD patrol vehicles attempted to disperse the gathering, a group of people began cutting through the metal security gates protecting Lorena’s Pharmacy. The suspects then broke the glass at the front entrance and entered the business.

Video from the scene shows police vehicles nearby as the break-in unfolds.

According to the store manager, the suspects made their way to the rear of the pharmacy and stole an unknown quantity of narcotics. Alcohol and other merchandise were also reportedly taken.

No arrests related to the burglary were reported at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
