Person Broke Down On The Shoulder Of Freeway Hit & Killed

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 4-1-24, 12:10 a.m.
LOCATION: WB 91 BETWEEN GREEN RIVER AND THE 241
AREA/CITY: Yorba Linda
DETAILS:

  1. Orange County Fire Authority and California Highway Patrol, Santa Ana Office responded to a reported possible body in lanes.
  2. When units arrived they found a person down on the WB 91.
  3. That person was pronounced deceased.
  4. According to CHP, it appears that a person was broke down on the shoulder of the freeway attending to their vehicle when a second vehicle slammed into them, throwing the person into lanes and killing them.
  5. The driver that hit the broken down vehicle did stop and is cooperating with police.
  6. All lanes except the fast track lanes will be closed while the incident is investigated
