AZ DPS troopers and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a pedestrian that had been struck several times on the eastbound I-10 59th Avenue ramp.

Troopers and fire crews arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Per radio traffic, the victim was struck by multiple vehicles.

It is unknown if any of the vehicles stopped; only emergency vehicles were seen at the scene.

The incident triggered an hours-long closure of the eastbound access road between 67th Ave and 59th Avenue and the 59th Avenue on the ramp.

DPS troopers and detectives assumed command of the investigation.

The scene was cleared around 3:30 AM.
