Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Collision | Chula Vista

10.28.2021 | 5:47 AM | CHULA VISTA – The male (pedestrian) victim was transported to a local hospital with a compound fracture to one of his legs after being struck by the 18-year-old male driver of a Dodge Charger.

The victim was crossing the intersection in the crosswalk pulling a shopping cart.

The driver was apparently speeding and took the turn from southbound Broadway onto westbound H St, and may have lost control on the turn and fishtailed before striking the victim.

The driver lost more control and went approx 100 yards down H St dragging the victim’s shopping cart under the car.

The Charger was blacked out with no lights on and another male driving a work truck hit the rear of the Charger that was sitting in the #1 lane.

Neither driver was injured.

CVPD is investigating.
