Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run On Carlsbad Boulevard

A woman was killed in an apparent hit-and-run Monday evening on Carlsbad Boulevard, and police later located the vehicle believed to have been involved.

The collision was reported around 7:47 p.m. on September 15, 2026, in the 3800 block of Carlsbad Boulevard.

Firefighters arrived to find a pedestrian down in the roadway with CPR in progress. According to preliminary fire radio traffic, the victim was a woman in her 40s. She was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The vehicle involved fled the scene and was initially described as a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata. According to a law enforcement BOLO broadcast, authorities were searching for a 2015 Hyundai Sonata.

The vehicle was later located. It was not immediately clear whether the driver had also been located or taken into custody.

Carlsbad police closed the roadway while investigators processed the scene and continued their investigation into the fatal collision.

The victim’s identity had not been released.
