Pedestrian Killed In Double Hit-And-Run Crash In Koreatown

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by two vehicles early Thursday morning in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. on July 23, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the intersection of Vermont Avenue and 7th Street following reports of a pedestrian struck by multiple vehicles.

According to a witness at the scene, the pedestrian was first hit by a vehicle that continued without stopping. The witness said the victim appeared to survive the initial impact but was then struck by a second vehicle, an SUV, while lying in the roadway.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian may have been in a marked crosswalk at the time of the first collision, though investigators have not confirmed the circumstances.

LAPD closed the southbound lanes of Vermont Avenue south of 7th Street for several hours while detectives processed the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are working to identify the driver of the first vehicle.
