HPD and HFD responded to reports of an auto ped
arriving units located the ped, who was pronounced deceased at scene
the driver and vehicle fled the scene
multiple witnesses made contact with the driver, who decided to leave after staying briefly
pedestrian may have been in the crosswalk, and investigators will be reviewing the video evidence from businesses in the area, as well as witness statements
does not appear that weather played a role in the crash, but will be reviewed
