A late-night collision involving a Metro bus left one person dead in Downtown Los Angeles.
At approximately 11:00 p.m. on July 6, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck near the intersection of 6th Street and South Los Angeles Street.
When officers arrived, they located a Metro bus stopped at the scene. The pedestrian was believed to have become trapped beneath the rear of the bus and was pronounced deceased.
LAPD Central Traffic Division investigators responded to conduct the fatal collision investigation alongside Metro investigators.
The crash occurred in a busy nightlife area, with large crowds of people walking to and from nearby bars and restaurants. Authorities have not confirmed whether the victim had been visiting any of the surrounding businesses.
The identity of the victim has not been released, and investigators have not announced what factors may have contributed to the collision.
