    Driver: Michael Burnelle,  59-year-old Male from El Monte, California

    Pedestrian:    20-30 year-old Unidentified Male

    SUMMARY:
    On Friday, August 15, 2025, at about 11:15 PM, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Foothill Boulevard near the I-15 Freeway.

    A Ford Flex driven by Michael Burnelle traveled west on Foothill Boulevard approaching the I-15 south on-ramp. As Burnelle approached the on-ramp, his vehicle collided with a pedestrian, who was in the roadway. Burnelle’s vehicle became disabled, and he notified a deputy who was in the area of the collision. The unidentified male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

    Deputies D. Johnson and  A. Villalobos from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation. The cause of the crash is under investigation and the case will be forwarded to the Rancho Cucamonga District Attorney’s Office for review.
