Pedestrian and Dog Hit By Car in San Mateo

LOCATION: 28th Ave and Sunset Terrace.

DETAILS:

  1. First responders responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
  2. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive female bleeding from the head, as well as an injured dog.
  3. Emergency Personnel requested an air ambulance due to the severity of the injuries, but they determined that ground transport would be quicker.
  4. The victim was transported to a local trauma center with a faint pulse and agonal breathing.
  5. The driver of the vehicle was detained by officers and transported to the police department for an alcohol blood draw.
  6. During the investigation, a subject entered the crime scene to take photos and refused to leave upon the officers’ request. Officers had to move the subject out of the scene before he eventually complied.
  7. Officers transported the injured dog to an animal hospital for treatment in unknown condition.
