Passenger Trapped After Hit and Run in Riverside

  1. Riverside Fire Department and Riverside Police Department responded to a reported traffic collision involving two vehicles and a trapped occupant.
  2. When they arrived on the scene, they found one vehicle in the intersection with significant damage and one occupant trapped.
  3. The driver was able to self-extricate, but the passenger needed to be extricated using the jaws of life.
  4. Firefighters extricated the patient in about 20 minutes. (On Video)
  5. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were transported to a local area hospital, suffering from serious but unknown injuries.
  6. The 2nd vehicle involved fled the scene.
  7. At the scene, debris from the collision included the front end of a second vehicle, including the license plate.
  8. According to witnesses at the scene, the license plate is from the fled vehicle, but police are investigating that.
