Paramount: Reckless Driver Crashes Shortly After Pursuit

12.02.2018 | 11:35 PM | PARAMOUNT – A reckless driver who was fleeing police crashed, late Sunday night.

Deputies attempted to stop a reckless driver shortly after 11:30 PM. The driver failed to yield, prompting deputies to initiate a brief pursuit.

Due to the extremely reckless nature of the suspect’s driving, deputies called off the pursuit after several minutes.

Moments later, deputies discovered the vehicle had collided into a pole at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Somerset Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle was immediately detained and evaluated by firefighter paramedics before being booked.

The man’s vehicle began to catch fire and prompted firefighters to respond and douse the car.

No other vehicles were involved.
