Panorama City: Murder Suspect Taken Into Custody After Pursuit Crash Leads To Standoff
02.24.2020 | 8:30 PM | LOS ANGELES – A murder suspect was taken into custody after a pursuit crash led to a barricade situation inside an apartment Monday night.
Officers attempted to stop a suspect wanted in connection with a murder who was driving a vehicle reported stolen in the San Fernando Valley around 8:30 PM.
The suspect failed to yield and led officers on a high-speed pursuit before crashing into a parked vehicle at the intersection of Chase Street and Willis Avenue in Panorama City.
After the crash the suspect fled on foot into a nearby apartment complex were he barricaded himself for hours.
A SWAT team responded to the scene as officers evacuated nearby residents.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody without incident early Tuesday morning at around 1:30 AM.
