Pacoima: Parolee Taken Into Custody After Wild Pursuit

09.30.2019 | 5:45 PM | LOS ANGELES – A parolee-at-large that fled from police in a suspected stolen vehicle was taken into custody after a wild pursuit, Monday evening.

Authorities attempted to stop a blue Toyota Avalon reported as stolen in the Pacoima area around 5:45 PM.

The vehicle, driven by a known gang member and parolee-at-large, fled from police for over an hour reaching speeds of 100 MPH.

At one point the driver of the vehicle ditched items from the vehicle before slowing as two passengers bailed out and fled on foot.

Due to the reckless driving behavior of the suspect police called off the pursuit and tracked the vehicle.

Eventually the suspect came to a stop at a residence in the 9700 block of Telfair Avenue where he appeared to converse with nearby residents before being taken into custody.

It was unclear if the two passengers who bailed out of the vehicle were taken into custody.

An investigation is ongoing.
