Pacoima: Hay Bale Fire Destroys RV, Prompts Closure Of Freeway Lanes

09.14.2019 | 12:26 PM | LOS ANGELES – Firefighters worked fiercely to contain a fire that broke out in a pile of hay bales along and destroyed an RV, Saturday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a vegetation fire burning along the westbound I-210 Freeway near the westbound SR-118 Freeway transition in the Pacoima area around 12:26 PM.

Crews arriving on scene located a cache of hay bales engulfed in flames on a property adjacent to the freeway.

Firefighters quickly doused the nearly 1,000 hay bales across nearly an acre of land and extinguished the bulk of the fire.

An RV burned as a result of the fire and multiple lanes of the westbound I-210 Freeway were closed to make room for firefighter equipment.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
