Pacoima: Fatal Crash Splits Car In Half

10.04.2019 | 1:56 AM | 1:56 AM | LOS ANGELES – A man was dead after the vehicle he was driving struck a pole and split in half, early Friday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with fire in the 12800 block of Van Nuys Boulevard near the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard in the Pacoima area around 1:56 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a black coupe split in half with the engine on fire and a male victim trapped.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames while working to free the trapped patient.

Despite their efforts firefighter paramedics pronounced the male driver deceased on scene.

Police closed the area surrounding the crash while they investigated.
