Pacoima: Brush Fire Along Freeway Prompts Closures

02.29.2020 | 1:41 PM | LOS ANGELES – A brush fire that broke out along a busy freeway prompted lane closures while crews battled the blaze, Saturday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a brush fire burning near the southbound I-5 Freeway at Paxton Street in the Pacoima area around 1:41 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a half-acre fire and began efforts to extinguish the blaze.

Southbound traffic on the I-5 Freeway was stopped while crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
