Oxnard: Tow Truck Backs Into Fire Hydrant Causing Geyser
12.24.2019 | 2:29 AM | OXNARD – A tow truck backed into a fire hydrant causing a geyser that lasted for nearly an hour, early Tuesday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a sheared fire hydrant near the Ross Dress For Less located in the 2200 block of North Rose Avenue around 2:29 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a geyser shooting from the ground and began efforts to shut off the flow of water.
It took nearly an hour before the flow of water could be stopped.
A tow truck whose driver struck the hydrant and caused the geyser remained on scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
No injuries were reported.
