Oxnard: Street Racing Detail Nets Multiple Arrests, Vehicles Impounded

08.13.2020 | 7:30 PM | OXNARD – A detail to combat street racing made multiple arrests and impounded vehicles, Thursday night.

The specialized detail comprising of Oxnard Police and California Highway Patrol officers deployed to combat illegal street racing beginning around 7:30 PM.

During the night the detail made nine arrests and towed nine vehicles for a variety of offenses including street racing, airding or engaging in the exhibition of speed, and reckless driving.

Violators will also be referred to the State Referee to have their vehicles inspected upon release.

The operation came in response to an increase in unsanctioned street racing events in the city.
