Oxnard: Man Shot After Interrupting Possible Burglary

12.29.2018 | 10:42 PM | OXNARD – A man was hospitalized after being shot during what may have been an interrupted auto burglary, Saturday night.

Police and fire officials responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Glenwood Drive and North H Street around 10:40 PM.

Units arriving on scene found a man down suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Firefighter paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting him to an area hospital.

Initial reports indicate the man nay have interrupted a group attempting to burglarize a vehicle before they opened fire on him.

The group fled in what was described only as a SUV-type vehicle.

Officers are on scene continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
