Oxnard: Man Flees Police With Baby

02.09.2019 | 10:30 PM | OXNARD – A man was under arrest after fleeing from police with a baby inside his vehicle, Saturday night.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for unknown reasons around 10:30 PM.

The driver of the vehicle fled, leading officers on a pursuit before the driver fled from his vehicle near the intersection of Terrace Avenue and Yale Street.

The man was quickly taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for unspecified injuries.

Police clearing the vehicle discovered a small baby inside and took the child into protective custody.

It was unclear why the man fled from police or what prompted the initial stop.
