Oxnard: Man Blows Off Fingers While Holding Fireworks

01.01.2019 | 10:36 PM | OXNARD – Fireworks exploded in a man’s hand, severing several of his fingers, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a man suffering from a fireworks related injury in the 1600 block of South Oxnard Boulevard around 10:36 PM.

Crews arriving on scene located a man near a gold van bleeding profusely and missing several fingers on his hand.

Firefighter paramedics worked to control the bleeding and transported the man to an area trauma center for treatment.

It was unclear why the man was holding fireworks in the first place but police are following up with the man.
