Oxnard: Homeowner Reportedly Shoots Knife-Wielding Man In His Backyard

10.28.2019 | 2:32 AM | OXNARD – A homeowner reportedly shot and wounded a knife-wielding man who was in his backyard, early Monday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting with a victim down at a residence located in the 400 block of La Canada Avenue around 2:32 AM.

Units responding were advised that the owner of the residence they were responding to had shot a knife-wielding man in his backyard.

On scene authorities found a male victim down suffering from a gunshot wound and transported him to an area hospital in unknown condition.

It was unclear if injured man was known to the homeowner or if he was attempting to break into the home.

An investigation is ongoing and no further details were immediately available.
