Oxnard: High-Speed Pursuit Ends With Crash

08.06.2020 | 11:15 PM | OXNARD – A high-speed pursuit ended when the suspect rear-ended another vehicle, late Thursday night.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling at speeds in excess of 100 MPH on the northbound US-101 Freeway near De Soto Avenue around 11:15 PM.

The driver of the vehicle failed to yield to officers and sped off reaching speeds of over 140 MPH at one point.

At one point the suspect called 911 to report someone inside his truck was trying to kill him.

Shortly after the suspect rear-ended a van and was taken into custody.

Two occupants inside the van that was struck by the suspect were evaluated by declined medical treatment.

The suspect was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries before being booked.
