Oxnard: Firefighters Rescue Man Car Being Flooded By Sheared Fire Hydrant

03.08.2020 | 1:03 AM | OXNARD – A man was rescued a vehicle that overturned onto a sheared fire hydrant and was flooding with water, early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving an overturned vehicle in the 2000 block of Wooley Road around 1:03 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a single vehicle overturned onto a fire hydrant that had sheared and was flooding the vehicle.

Crews acted quickly to shut off the flow of water and extricate the male driver.

Firefighter paramedics were able to successfully extricate the man within minutes and transported him to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
