Oxnard: Firefighters Extinguish Homeless Encampment Fire

11.14.2019 | 2:00 AM | OXNARD – A fire that broke out at a transient encampment was extinguished by firefighters, early Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a fire burning near on Rice Avenue just south of Pleasant Valley Road around 2:00 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a homeless encampment on fire and quickly began efforts to extinguish the blaze.

It took firefighters 10 minutes to snuff out the blaze.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
