Oxnard: Carjacking Suspect Arrested After Pursuit

07.01.2020 | 12:00 AM | OXNARD – A suspected carjacker was taken into custody after a high-speed pursuit, early Wednesday morning.

Officers spotted a vehicle traveling on the northbound I-101 Freeway that was wanted in connection with a carjacking that occured in Ventura earlier in the day.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle the driver sped off at speeds in excess of 100 MPH.

Eventually the suspect stopped on the Rice Avenue off ramp and surrendered without further incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
