Overturned Semi Blocks Buena Park Freeway

DETAILS:
- A motorcycle rider went down on the freeway, prompting a chain reaction crash that resulted in an overturned big rig Monday morning
- Calls came in of a solo motorcycle that crashed on the southbound 5 under Beach Blvd
- As 911 callers were on the scene, they reported that a semi possibly struck the motorcycle in lanes and lost control before flipping over.
- The rider was located on the right shoulder just west of the Beach Blvd overpass and was tended to by paramedics.
- The truck and motorcycle were found east of the overpass. The driver of the semi could exit with the help of bystanders.
- The motorcycle rider was transported to UCI Medical Center with serious injuries.
- The truck driver was also transported to a nearby hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
- All lanes have been shut down, however, CHP is working to open up two lanes
