11.08.2020 | 6:28 AM | SAN DIEGO – There were no witnesses to this accident. It was raining at the time and the two back tires of the SUV were bald. The SUV driver lost control and went off of the freeway hitting a freeway street light before coming to rest on its roof.
Good Samaritans including a nurse pulled over to try and help. Firefighters were able to get the male passenger out and rushed to UCSD hospital with major injuries. The Firefighters had an extremely hard time getting to the female driver due to the damage to the mini-van and her positioning inside the vehicle.
It took the Firefighters almost an hour of using the “Jaws of Life”, saws, and metal cutting tools to get the female victim out. She was rushed to UCSD hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The #3 & #4 traffic lane was reopened at 8:41 am.
