Orange: Person Trapped After Crash Into Big Rig

01.16.2019 | 2:20 AM | ORANGE – A person was trapped after a suspected DUI crash involving a big rig, Wednesday morning.

Authorities responded to the reported crash involving a big rig near the intersection of Batavia Street and Grove Avenue around 2:20 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a Mini Cooper that had collided with the trailer of a FedEx big rig.

The Mini Cooper’s passenger was trapped in the crash and had to be freed by firefighters using the jaws of life.

Firefighter paramedics treated the trapped victim on scene before transporting them to an area hospital.

The driver of the Mini Cooper was arrested on scene after officers determined they were under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
