Orange: HazMat Team Responds To Science Project Gone Wrong
08.28.2019 | 7:25 PM | ORANGE – A student working on a science project prompted a hazardous materials response, Wednesday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a chemical spill inside a home in the 7000 North Adele Street around 7:25 PM.
Units arriving on scene located fourplex with a student who had been working with unknown chemicals for a science project.
The student reportedly mixed chemicals with created a sodium-based byproduct that exploded.
Firefighters evacuated nearby residents while they investigated the chemical reaction but later deemed the scene safe.
No injuries were reported as a result of the chemical reaction.
