Orange: Couple Rescued After Falling Into Ravine
08.16.2017 | 10:30 PM | ORANGE – A couple was rescued after falling off a cliff and into a ravine behind a park in Orange, Wednesday night.
Firefighters responded around 10:30 PM to the Belmont Park located in the 2500 block of Somerset Street in Orange after receiving reports of a male and a female that had fallen into a ravine.
Crews arriving on scene found the couple at the bottom of a ravine behind the park. The couple was unable to climb out on their own. Due to the presence of power lines and sharp terrain an aerial rescue wasn’t feasible.
Members of the Orange Fire Department’s Urban Search and Rescue team were called-in to initiate a rope-rescue and successfully assisted the couple out of the ravine.
Both the male and female were evaluated on scene by firefighter paramedics before being released.
