The Corona Fire Department is on the scene of an aircraft down with a vegetation fire at Auburndale and Rincon. Multiple units are responding. Please avoid the area while crews are working.

The vegetation fire has been knocked down. CFD reports of 1 single engine plane down and checking on injuries. Auburndale will be closed between Rincon and Palos Verde Dr until further notice.

Confirmed 1 deceased person in the plane.

Multiple CFD units are being released. CFD and CPD will remain on the scene. The area will remain closed for some time.
  1. Corona Police Department, Corona Fire Department, and Cal Fire, Riverside County, responded to reports of a tree fire.
  2. Soon after, they began receiving reports of an airplane down in the same area.
  3. When units arrived on the scene, they found one small airplane in a tree and on fire.
  4. Firefighters quickly got the fire out.
  5. At least one person in the aircraft was pronounced deceased.
  6. The cause of the accident is unknown.
  7. The number of bodies on the plane is unknown.
  8. The make of the plane is unknown.
