One Killed, Eight Injured In Horrific Crash
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 8-27-23, 9:20pm
LOCATION: Gilman Springs Road and Bridge St
CITY: Lakeview
DETAILS:
- California Highway patrol, Indio Office and Cal Fire Riverside County responded to reports of a 2 car traffic collision.
- When units arrived on scene they found 2 vehicles with major damage.
- Paramedics and the Battalion Chief arrived on scene and requested multiple AMR units.
- One person, the driver of the red car, A KIA was pronounced deceased.
- According to CHP on scene, 8 others were transported to local area trauma centers, 3 patients critical and 5 other patients with minor to moderate injuries. At this time it appears the KIA was passing and went into the on coming lane OR was out of control for unknown reasons and hit the Nissan Quest Van head on.
- The Nissan was carrying a family.
- A passenger from the KIA was transported.

- Cal Fire Riverside County added the following post to their Facebook page – Traffic Collision:rpt@9:20 p.m. Gilman Springs Road X Bridge Street in Lakeview. Multiple vehicles involved and nine victims. One victim perished at the scene. Three victims with serious injuries and five victims with minor to moderate injuries were transported by ground ambulance. CHP is investigating and should be contacted with any questions
