One Killed After Vehicle Plunges Off I-15 In Cajon Pass

A deadly rollover crash left one person dead and two others injured Wednesday afternoon in the Cajon Pass.

Just before 2:00 p.m. on July 15, 2026, California Highway Patrol officers and San Bernardino County Fire crews responded to reports of a vehicle that had gone over the side of the southbound Interstate 15.

When first responders arrived, they found the vehicle overturned on its roof down an embankment off the freeway.

One occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two additional occupants were injured in the crash and received medical treatment. Their conditions have not been released.

Emergency crews remained on scene for an extended period while investigators documented the crash and worked to recover the vehicle.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
